Spleck: Creyonah Special #14

Good night everyone.

How was your Tuesday, on this late November day?

Mine was good, just underwritten though of course, with it just being a little past 20:00, I have more than enough time to write the 1828 words that were separating me from what I had at the start of the 4th and the 3000 words that I will end up with come the end of the night.

You know that I'm going to do it.

Or should these blogs be just about the drawings, or as little about me and my thoughts when my thoughts, as I write are often about how much I've written and how much I will.

That has a limited appeal to anyone, even writers.

And there's enough to unpack in one drawing  and I'm giving more than that.

Tonight I gave you two.

How's that for Petrie goodness?

I know, it is pretty good and I'm some kind of awesome.

And tonight's drawings?

They're half the recommended allowance of Petriation and Petriation is good for everyone.

Especially the whimsy of Spleck, though it has its dark origins, as it was once known by another name, which I've mentioned before, not the name, but the fact that Spleck was different once.

In fact, I mentioned it last night.

But the people of Spleck are a resilient lot and they've made the most of what has happened to them and are maybe even happier now?

Though one of those leaves is about to suffer an untimely demise as Snurms like to cook with them.

Like bay leaves, though they aren't poisonous to snurms.

But one of those leaves floating on the wind is going to be dead in less than an hour, because this Snurm is hungry.

Do you like the wind that I drew? It's the first time that I've drawn it?

I'll get better, but  it's a good start right?

You know that it is.

And i like the beak on the pencil too.

The cloud's a little small but we ain't all strapping examples of our kind are we?

No, we are not.

But as a shorter man, I've taken to saying that the tall need to be tall to avoid feeling small.

Ha!

The tall of course would disagree, some of them vehemently.

The most vehement of this I'm sure being Basketball players as they are the tallest.

But ask me if I care about about their feelings about a joke and I will say that I don't.

Then again, they ain't going to lay their eyes on this posting where I make a little joke about them.

But it would be nice.

As for the ship, I didn't draw them on, but that's a living ship, sailing the seas.

Happy.

And the fish is happy too, especially since he just had himself a very good supper and he's always happy after a good supper and he's doing what he loves best.

Swimming.

We should all be so lucky to be doing what we love most.

And this is where I bring this posting to an end.

Good Night everyone.

Only this time, it's the end instead of the beginning.

Be well and do some good with your life eh?

Charles Petrie
