Slate #1_Vrsn 2_Spleck: Daigoeda

Good night Fishies, or fans of the Fish if that's more your speed, because maybe fishies is too juvenile and makes you want to pull your hair out, if you have any to pull out that is.

We aren't all blessed with hair, or as I like to say since I am not, have handsome heads that are better off without it.

Yeah, it's the ugly headed who have hair, for the most part.

😀

Just like the tall are tall so they don't feel small

Hey that rhymes and it came naturally. Like maybe I should give poetry a try, since I gave drawing a try and look at how far I've come in just 23 months.

So if I can do that in that length of time, then one can only imagine what I could do with poetry eh?

Yeah yeah, it was poetry that I first took to writing 31 years ago.

But this isn't about that.

I wasn't expecting the tablet today, because it was slated for tomorrow, but lo and behold it showed up a little over an hour ago and I've already put it to use twice.

Yes, I deleted the first version of this drawing, that was better, after taking the photo of version one, then recklessly deleting the photo after deleting it off the device.

And yes, I have to do it this way because the device is not wifi enabled. So while that is a level of suck, considering the cost of this device was less than 20.00$, that's something I can roll with as I get to a level of skill with drawing tablets that getting a a proper one is not an outrageous expense.

Also, I'd need to have the money for one of those better tablets, ideally one that doesn't require me to use a computer.

But for now, this is good.

Expect me to post my Slate Drawings regularly and they may or may not be Spleckety like this one.

But this one is totally Spleck.

The plan is to do the daily drawings on my Slate, which is not the name of the device, but they ain't paying me to advertize them so I am going to run with calling it my Slate.

And as I sit here, I think that the Slate drawings I will give away for free, but the ones on paper I will charge for.

That's what I'm thinking.

As for how much I'd sell those small drawings for, 5.00$ seems fair for a 4 by 6 drawing.

Am I wrong?

I put a goodly amount of myself into them and that effort, even if it was once again under 15 minutes, which it isn't, deserves some compensation.

That's my thinking anyway.

I enjoy drawing for people and giving them away is something I'd continue doing happily, but it's time for some joy back to me.

Financial joy.

And giving out the free drawings that would require them to be e-mailed to them could help me with conmverting them to paid clients.

In theory at least.

Maybe I'll never make another dollar from drawing now I continue getting better.

Whatever happens though, I'm going to put my Slate to good use because it is light and hella portable. and I just need to use my old tablet's cover to transport it safely.

So maybe in three years I'll upgrade to a proper drawing tablet.

Five?

Ten?

Never?

Wow, my inner critic is being a harsh asshole.

It won't be never dammit!

Wow, I'm going to have fun with this.

And maybe I'll come up with drawings for my eventual calendar, or the future toy designs.

Yeah, I've got ideas man.

I just need to realize them into reality.

And right now, I need to go get a Pepsi and the last Ketchup Pringles that I'll be eating until the final three days of the year to close out my chip eating time until the 2030's?

Be well.

Oh and what do you think of the drawing?

I like it of course, but I want to know what you think.

Thanks.

Be well, again.
