Spleck: Creyonah #42

Here I am, for Ho Ho Ho Day Three, of the 12 Days of Christmas and I am writing these words from elsewhere the night before I go to other elsewhere until after Christmas.

And I have some writing to do, which is not what I did at all in the 2nd and 3rd quarters which means some writing is 1026 words to get back to 1250 each day during these 12 Days.

Yes, I came in under that tally yesterday, but I was over on the first day and am ahead of the pace overall with a little cushion.

But I'd rather make it a bigger cushion than slink through this stretch of days, even though I've earned the easy output with 16 days left to write following my first achievement of the Millioncy.

Yes, it is just the first and not the last!

13 straight is a good number as I would be 60 in the final Millioncy and a lot can happen between now and then for my situation to change for the better.

But I'm a long way from then and I should just celebrate the first Millioncy and finish out the year with a series of quiet tallies until after the 12 Days of Christmas because I need to get back at it and make an effort at finishing the year with a hundred first good peak days, which I fell off of making with some desperate rushes at.

Still, how many writers can say that they wrote a million words in a single year?

I'd like to know because I can't believe that I'm the only one.

If I was though, that would make this great accomplishment even greater as I would have done something that no one ever did before.

And yes Virginia, it is a great accomplishment because that's 2740 words a day, rounded up, without a single day off.

Not that I ever take a day off from writing, which has been the case since May 19, 2006.

Yes, 13 years and counting, with no end in sight.

Barring something catastrophic happening of course that keeps me from writing each day.

For the record I don't see that happening.

Mind you, the Millioncy was once an impossible dream of mine and here I am, already having done it with days to spare.

I'm listening to Christmas music and I've only now just gotten to listen to a song that I remember from years ago that I would point to and say more please.

Well, there are a lot of Christmas songs to play and they can't all be classics.

Or classics that I like, the same as there are the classics of literature that we were taught in High School that I found it hard to get through.

Ugh.

So much stupid in the way that we are taught English.

Now that might be a minority opinion, but it's the way to drive any joy of reading for some.

Not me, but it didn't help me any.

It's the bottom of the 4th and 23:00 is around the corner. And I am just past the halfway point for the day.

Failing to write past 1250 words for a second straight day is not going to make me angry, but I will be disappointed.

This is the second post living Stan Lee Christmas, not that he has a special connection to it, it's jut that he had such a hand in one of the three pillar that have put me on the path that I've been on for the last 20 years.

Without Comic books, movies and books, I wouldn't have been forged into a writer.

And first and foremost of comic book universes will always be the Marvel Universe and and the Marvel Universe, knock on wood, will always hold onto the best of Stan Lee.

I suppose I should write something about the drawings.

I like the first side better than the flipside, but neither are resonating with me like others have.

I think this is where I will leave this posting in the done column.

Ho ho ho.
