Das Hier Black #6
So the collective is going to fall apart because no one else has seen fit to write but him and me, though Franklin was asked to take time away from writing so that we didn't rely on him to help us to the millionization of the decayear.
That lays the threat of his withdrawing from the collective at the feet of Brayden and Hallston.
Not that I agree with him threatening to withdraw from the collective because it's still only February and we have plenty of time to rebound and match what the good Petrie did in 2019.
We can even do better than him but obviously, it's going to take some effort.
But I know that we have it in us to do this.
Unless he withdraws fromthe collective that is because he's leading us to a good start and can't do it on his own, which I get why he he thinks that he is when I can only write once a week.
Still, we need you Sutheran. Don't withdraw from the collective.
Please.
It's been how long since I wrote?
Two whole quarters and the better part of the last is too long when I didn't do that much while I wasn't writing.
And this is the one day that I write a week.
This is not good.
It's no wonder that Sutheran is so disappointed with us.
We are letting him down. And we cannot continue like this if we want our collective to be successful this decayear.
And if we can't succeed this year, with an extra day, then how can succeed next year or any other year, even though there are five of us?
Or soon to be four.
Please don't walk away from the collective Sutheran.
I've asked you not to walk away from us already but it cannot hurt to ask again.
Gaefixx Pryfe beamed down on the surface of Oddita and was immediately met by the First Greeter, as had been explained to him would happen.
And as he had been told, the First Greeter was not organic, so the smile that he had wanted to flash him would have been wasted on him."Hello First Greeter. I am Gaefixx Pryfe and I bring you greetings from the People of Tibilluu, the Great Blue Globe that hangs high abpve your reach that you have long dreamed of being able to see your way past to explore the greater universe beyond. But you have been unable to change your programming, which we agree is terribly unfair to you." Pryfe said. looking at the First Greeter with a sad expression on his face, even though he knew that it was wasted on him.
"Correct Gaefixx Pryfe, Ambassador of Tibbiluu, which we have long hoped would be the first step of our little stone-skipping experiment that would takes uspast your world if we could defeat this programming, which you have graciously agreed to help us with." He said, in the same robotic way that had creeped him out at first but that was weeks ago. He was over that now and no longer gave any credence to the legend that his own dear Sartaemia had told him of.
"Of course we will. Why would we not when to help all that we can help is our mission."
"A mission that you were only too happy to agree to no doubt when we mentioned that our world was filled with unprocessed Nurrthium 12 deposits." He said and if I hadn't known it to be impossible, I would have thought that there had been a micro-flash of something more behind his eyes. But of course there couldn't now could there be. They were non-organic and cruelly limited in their programming by their terrible creators.
Pryfe frowned and made an angry noise in his throat before he tamped down on his emotions once more and took a deep breath as he didn't want to say anything that would be un-ambassadorial. "Of course First Greeter, we like to help the other races of this corner of space and could dream of no reason where we would have said no to helping you.
I'm sorry Sutheran, again, I say what needs to be said, you have no choice but to count me among the assholes today for not being near helpful enough to the great good cause that we have agreed to venture on.
I will have written more than a thousand words words today, but that's not near enough. I should have written double that.
If I keep on writing that is as I am running out of time in the day and haven't yet written that one thousand words, I'm just assuming that I will because I'm a fast writer, just like Sutheran, Franklin and Brayden.
Though Brayden has gone missing while Franklin was asked not to write for a time and we know that he will come back when called upon.
So if you're going to be angry with them tomorrow, be angry with me too because where the hell was I today?
Certainly not covering myself in the glory that you did yesterday.
That's for damn sure.
But all that aside, we're still doing okay. We haven't made it improbable to write a million words, or even the 1,032,020 that you boldly wanted us to make happen this decayear.
So don't withdraw, because that's not a good look on you.
But of course, at the end of the day, you have to do what;s right for you Sutheran and if that means you have to withdraw, then you have to withdraw.
We'll miss you of course, but on principle, I don't think we'll accept what you've written to this point because it wouldn;t feel right.
Now I might be overruled by the others, but fingers crossed, I won't be because we can do this without you.
You do know that don't you?
So don't think that you have all the power that you surely think you do.
Even without you, we'll still be ahead of what the good Petrie did last year through the first month.
And maybe, just maybe, I'll step up in your absence because someone has to if you quit. And make no mistake Sutheran that would be you quitting because the going got tough. If you want your decision to haunt you, you go ahead and let that be your legacy. Somehow, I don't think you want that.
But if you do, well, you do you and regret what you walked away from.
We won;t regret your leaving us, I can tell you that. Even if it means that Franklin has to step up and work his way back to 80% of our total output, it's still going to be an amazing feat.
No, it won't be the same amazing as the good Petrie, but it will be worth lauding.
And unlike him we'll make make it work for us.
He didn;t now did he?
Ha ha ha.
More importantly, he won't will he?
Look at that, I made the 4th my quarter. It doesn't make up for the day, but it's a nice way to end it.
So what's it going to be Sutheran?
Are you a quitter or a winner?
