Skin Of Evil

 Troi has been away and is returning on a shuttle while the Enterprise has been doing work on the dylithium crustals so it has no warp power.

 As often happens, something goes wrong, this time on the shuttle carrying Troi.

 As this was happening, Yar had just had a coversation with Worf about a tournament she was set to be competing in.  

Warp power was restored and they raced off to the crash site of the shuttle cotnaining Counsellor Troi.

 Surely she was okay?

 No doubt.

 But it would be too easy if they got to her without any trouble.

 It would also be a little lacking in excitement.

 And the trouble was some kind of lifeform thast was a skin of evil that had no love or liking for anyone and didn't allow the Away Team to get to Troi and the pilot.

 Yar wasn't going to take no for an answer though and tired to get past it and he threw her a few feet away and she was dead.

 Just like that.

 They did try to revive her on board the Enterprise but there was too much damage.

 That was an anti-climatic death

 They returned to the crash site and the thing, who called itself Armus, had left Troi and the unimpiortant pilot alone, even though he could have easily killed them.

 Riker was taken into the substance of Armus and was eventually released by Armus after Picard beamed down to the surface.

 And with the possibility of his freedom of the planet being in front of him, Armus allowed the Away Team, outside of the now dead Yar to return to the Enterprise.

 You need to know who made up the Away Team?

 Fine, 

 Riker of course, Data, Laforge, Dr. Crusher and  Yar.

 Armus was left on the planet with the wreckage of the shuttle destroyed as Worf was left in charge when Picard beamed down to the planet and he was able to transport Troi, the pilot and Picard away.

 No tears for Armus who was left behind by the peoples of his world as he was all their evil, extracted from themselves given life.

 The people who left the world might have been assholes for leaving him behind, but at least the peoples of the Federation would not be troubled by him again because  the planet would be on notice for him.

 I liked the episode enough but if I never saw it again, I'd be fine.

Good morning humans. I hate the gravity of your world because it is hard on my back and my back has had enough of it and as a result, I woke up with a pain that that I cannot stand, so I am writing to you from the comfort of my bed. Though being true, because of the pain, there is no comfort but the comfort of escaping awareness through sleep. Hopefully I will find my way to sleep tonight because right now, it feels as though I will not. It is painfully clear to me that I have been away from the words for far too long as I got caught up in the memoriams of humans that have made the pictures that they so love. I don't get their appreciation of these stories, because I find them too long and they often like to make followups. And to that idea I shake my head. Maybe it's odd that I think this as a writer, but it is how I feel. I don't even remember what I was going to write. Was I going to slam Dalton for calling me a quitter if I withdrew from the collective? He certainly deserves it, not that I hate him, but he was certainly an ass when he was dissing me for wanting the collective to succeed. But that was more than a half hour ago and that was too long for me to hold onto the thought that I had then. Wow, how is it so much brighter here than it was when I took the photo, with the lights or flash? Ugh. The science of nature am I right? I like this drawing a lot. Well, I'm not crazy about the pencil's beak, but apart from that, he's a good pencil and I will continue to draw them. Ideally with more colour choices  than the four that I currently have. But for now, however long now lasts, four will have to do. Spleck II will graduate past the black paper so that I have more choices. As for the little guy with his very own flag, he's a Pobadyd and all good Pobadyds have their own flags. Luckily for Poeth, there are many ways for a Pobaddyd to earn themselves a flag becuase there's really only one thing that Poeth is good at, since he's so small and easily beaten in all the physical ways that a Pobadyd can earn their flag.
