The Russell Macklemore Experience #2
No, there's no joke here, it's just a kewl drawing. That's it, nothing more.
I'm not always going to bring the funny, but all of them will be of this size until further notice.
In case any of you got to wanting to buy the originals. They are for sale of course.
But you understood that of course because you're smart.
If you weren't, I know you wouldn't have found me here.
Thanks for passing by eh.
And yes, the robot is translating birdspeak, because he's smartly designed and can do that.
I'd like to say that I have robots like this for sale because I could sell them for a lot more than I could sell all of my drawings for.
Only, I'm not able to design, program or anything to do with robots.
I could come up with a name of course, but that's not especially special now is it?
Not that I'm claiming to be especially special or nothing, I'm just here because the blog was up for grabs and I wanted it.
So I took it.
One thing I wasn't going to accept however was keeping the Petrie name, which was a weird demand that Petrie made of both the alien Sutheran and his human friend Dalton Braxwell.
It's in the third period and the Montreal Canadiens, or Nos Glorieux as Sutheran likes to refer to them as because he thinks that it sounds cooler or something when the last thing that the Montreal Canadiens need is to sound cooler. They just need to play better and not give up leads in games that they shouldn't lose.
Yes, if you score three or four goals before the pother team scores one you should win the game which has been a glaring issue with the Habs this season as they have dropped at least two games with that kind of lead.
The more egregious of those failures was against the New York Rangers in November during the first inexcusable losing streak.
The first of two 8 gamers, where they were just lost.
Of course, there was third string of futility where they lost 5 straight which isn't much better than 8.
But tonight, if you didn't know who was seeded where, you would not think that the Canadiens were as far our of the playoffs as they are as they have played there way to 5-1 victory with little more than 4 minutes to play.
And the Islanders are psositioned for the playoffs right now.
They also scored their second of the period to make it 5-2.
Now the Habs have sucked terribly at times this season but they are not going to blow this lead with less than 3 minutes to play.
Plus, they scored a sixth goal.
They are not blowing a 4 goal lead with this little time left to play!
Where was this resolve in capitalizing on their 3 goal lead on the Stars last month and the 4-0 lead on the Rangers in November as those 3 additional points alone would have made their improbable run at the playoffs, fractionally less improbable.,
Okay, they also needed better efforts against the Red Wings, who swept them and the Devils, who didn't. Though it was the Devils who started them off on their first of two 8 game losing streaks this season.
Okay, they've once more won two straight games this season, but for their terrible hopes at making the playoffs this season to be anything but, they need to have one ten game winning streak to have a chance.
And that is all that it would be because the teams ahead of them are also winning and haven't had to suffer through three putrid streaks of futility.
Regardless of the likely end result of this season, let me know when any team in the NHL gets anywhere near the number of Cups.
Yeah, that's not going to happen in my lifetime because the two teams with a reasonable chance of making that happen are the Maple Leafs, with 13 and the Red Wings with 11. That's 11 and 13, respectively, from tying the record that it took the Canadiens 78 years to earn.
And 14 of those Cups were earned when there were far fewer teams.
As for the teams that have six, the Bruins and the Blackhawks, they would need multiple decades with the kind of winning in a decade that hasn't been seen since the 80's.
Admittedly, winning three Cups between 2010 and 2015 is a heckuva feat and if a team could do that for five straight decades they's get close to the Habs.
That's a big if.
Also, it isn't arrogant to be bringing this up because it's the factual record of the Cup winningest franchise in all of the NHL and that won't be taken away in my lifetime.
And I don't see them losing their standing as the second winningest franchise in the four major professional sports of North America happening anytime soon.
It's going to take some great years by the Lakers or the Celtics to even tie them.
The Celtics have 17 and the Lakers have 16. That's 7 and 8 respectively to tie it up.
And anyone who thinks the Habs are never going to win another Cup are just haters who can't accept their winning tradition.
Obviously the Habs aren't going to win the Cup this year as their path to the playoffs is stupidly hard and they need to win an improbably high number of games and get some help from their rivals.
And if you can't make it to the playoffs, you have zero chance at all of swiping a Cup from 15 better teams?
Imagine if they somehow made it in this year? The haters would...
Well, the haters would cry, scream, swear, curse and say a whole bunch of things and I would be so damn happy.
Maybe next season they can have a season where they don't have two wretched streaks of 8 games each and a third streak of 5 games. and actually make the playoffs for the first time since 2016-2017.
That's not too much to ask.
Yes, their history is what it is, but it has been half of forever since they last won the Cup and 6 seasons since they made it to the Eastern Conference Finals which counts this season as even if they were improbably able to qualify for the playoffs with so much winning needed and so little margin of error, they aren't going to make it to the Conference Finals.
At best, they'd win a game, maybe two in the first round.
Still, I'd take that over them finishing 12th, which is likely where they will finish barring the improbable.
Oh, I feel so old right now as I am feeling tired in public for the first time in I don't know how long and I don't want to go home and sleep because it's too dang early for sleeping.
So I'm going to have to gut it out and see this through until I leave for home in an hour as I still want to be home before the end of the day.
Not for any particular reason of course, just because that's when I want to be home.
Midnight is still a little early for me to be sleeping, but it's better than now.
As for now, I might just be done my writing for the day as it serves no purpose to write just for the sake of writing when the game is long since over and the Canadiens' win didn't do much for their slim playoff chances and there's nothing more to say about finding a tired patch.
And I haven't just encountered a woman who's bought me a drink and talk to me or anything.
There's no famous person here neither that someone is fanning out over like happened last week.
Though famous might be a stretch he's certainly known by people who follow his profession, which included one of the wait staff.
Of course, I'm, sure many of us have had mockable encounters with people of note. Even multiple ones, not that I'm pointing any fingers at anyone.
Not that I would know what to say to such a woman anyway, or that any such woman exists as I have never personally encountered such a woman.
Fine, they exist, they just don't care to reveal themselves to me.
So they might as well not because it amounts to the same thing.
Yes I doubled back on the woman buying me a drink thing because it would surely be something to write about. And it's always good to have something to write about.
Just as it's good to have found my second wind and be able to laugh at the fatigue that has passed, certain sure that it won't be coming back while I am here.
Especially if I end my time out by midnight as I am now deep into the final hour and I'm not going to miss anything by going home tonight as opposed to going home after midnight, which is tomorrow.
Yes, I am floundering, thanks for calling me on that. I'm going to go now I think as I don't need to be called on it a second time.
Good night everyone, I hope that you are working on living your best life because I know that I am.
