The Russell Macklemore Experience #5

20:20-23:10
"What an odd little book you are." The odd little pencil said, ignoring his own degree of oddness. which just went to show that it is not only humans who can ignore their own degree of whatever even as they comment on another's oddness.

"Thanks odd little pencil." The book replied. "See, I can do it too pencil." The book continued as it riffled through its pages because it was upset about the pencil's words, which it found to be offensive.

"That was rude." The pencil shot back. "I just meant to say that I've never seen a book with branches and horns sprouting from it."

The book stopped riffling its page. "And I've never seen a pencil with a hat but I wouldn't have cared to mention it if you hadn't been an ass and called me an odd little book. So you started this pencil and I won't take your shitty attitude." The book paused, then continued. "So unless you have something important to say to me, which I highly doubt given your clear sign of stupidity, you can go away and not come back." He said, very sure of his certainty.

I'm rewatching the sixth episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Where No One Has Gone Before and we still haven't seen Colm Meaney yet.

That must mean, yes, I went there, that he only became so regular is because he was

And Laforge is not yet the Chief Engineer, or dressed in Gold as he was eventually.

And Kosinksi is an arrogant ass who put the Entreprise through the ringer as they went on a trip.

They passed Warp Ten.

This would mean something else in the future episodes of Voyager.

Don't you hate it when continuity is ignored in a sequel series?

Or maybe you don't consider continuity as important as I do.

That's your right, but I think you're wrong.

But that's neither here nor there.

And Worf doesn't look right in red either.

Troi with her hair in a bun is also meh. And the whole not standard uniform thing is also stupid. Though at least it isn't short skirt which is so not befitting of workplace uniform when you're adventuring through space.

But it was the 60's eh?

And now the crazy shit starts to happen as they have left normal space behind and are in a realm where the thoughts of the crew were manifested.

That's dangerous to say the least.

Fortunately, for my liking at least, they didn't let the episode get "derailed" by showing too many thought ups with the worst one being thought up by Captain Picard himself as he tried to step off of the turbolift but was about to step into space.

I also like that later on, when they figured out what was up, after Riker saw the fading out of the assistant who was actually responsible for the journey that they want on in this episode. and admitted it was his fault for not listening to Wesley Crusher, who knew it wasn't Kosinski at all.

Of course he saw him fade out first but he also noted that the whatsit on the screen wasn't right.

Wesley wasn't my favourite character by any means, because I've never needed the youth character to hold my interest in a comic, book tv show or movie. I've always been fine with the adult characters.

And I just realized what I don't usually pay much attention to, the acting, as directed of course by the director, of one character.

I didn't care for it.

Not that I could ever act myself of course, so what can I say about it.

Save for we're entitled not to like someone's acting, even if we aren't an actor, director, producer or whatever else that would lend itself to having some "right" to comment on an actor's acting.

But I'll end the suspense and say that it was Denise Crosby's acting, where her tone was too excited(?).

Or something.

But as you know, if you know the history of the show, this would be an issue, as much as it is one past the first season.

So yay?

Yeah, looking back, it was definitely a yay, though that did drop their main cast female content down from three to two.

That was too bad.

But it didn't hurt the show itself, though it would have gotten better if she had stayed surely.

They just needed time to figure the show out.

I liked it. I've liked all the episodes of this rewatching so far and will surely like most of them.

But one is the number for today as I'm watching Blue Bloods live, happy to see Ed Asner who I rather enjoyed watching in Elf and afterwards, I'm going to watch a pvred episode of Shark Tank, which I rather like.

And for the record, it's not Reality TV. It's something else I suppose.

You watch cop shows? I like Blue Bloods and liked the heck out of NYPD Blue as the two cop shows that I've most liked.

Oh and I also like The Rookie.

I'm sure there are others that I have liked but I can't think of them at the moment.

Specifically, Cop shows. I remember liking the hybrid show of Law And Order and its spinoffs, most of which I liked. But those were not just cop shows, but cop and lawyer shows, which  I also like, Lawyer shows.

And I say were because I stopped caring about Special Victims Unit because I reached my fill of Sexual Assault as the driving force of a show.

I could go on, but this is a good time to bring this posting to an end as I have moved on to watching the aforementioned Shark Tank which I am certain sure you aren't interested in my yacking about.

So enjoy your weekend, though I'll be back tomorrow and Sunday because unlike Sutheran and Dalton, I'm not looking to take (m)any days off.

Be something blah, blah, blah.
