The Russell Macklemore Experience #12

20:45-23:58
Tonight's episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation that I will be writing about is Angel One.

They have just begun to orbit around a matriarchal world and the first impression of this world is that they are assholes.

And yes, women can be assholes.

Oh Wesley, you know that Picard is not fond of kids and you had the misfortune to let a snowball hit him.

Meanwhile, the women of Angel One, who are very sexist have agreed to let the Enterprise have the survivors of a wrecked freighter, which is why they have come to the planet.

They're the kind of sexist that most men just aren't anymore.

Admittedly I'm biased as a man, but they were hard with the men suck and are incapable and need big strong women to handle the real tasks.

The second story which seems like it was accidental, even though it wasn't because it was scripted, was a virus that began with the kids and caught up Picard and Worf thanks to the snowball incident.

Oh Riker got laid. And by the leader of the world too.

Or was about to when Trent momentarily blocked them with the giving of a gift.

The survivers of the freighter were easily found thanks to platinum which was not found on their world

They've taken wives of course, as the four survivors were  men. And as you can imagine, as they had seven years since landing on the world, they made families with their wives, with a total of 14 people all tolled,

Luckily the Enterprise has Data and he's an android and proof, in this case anyway, to the virus rampaging through the ship and was able to relieve Laforge and figure out a way to give the away team time to save the survivors from execution, all because they dared to challenge the notion that men were incapable of being more than pretty things.

How long has it been since we were like that honestly, with women being the pretty things as the men on this society didn't allow their men to vote or have opinions.

Yeah, that ain't at all backwards, like we were way back when.

Yeah, it's not perfect between men and women but it's a hell of a lot better than what Angel One had in episode.

Though they're probably better on Climate Change than we are.

Yeah, I liked the episode of course, but the politics of that world are stupid.

And as you no doubt know, intrinsically, they found a cure to the virus and all was well as they raced off to the Neutral Zone.

Though Picard's voice was terribly weak and Riker had to make the command for Picard for them to hurry off.

Oh and before I forget, the stay of execution that was called resulted in their exile to a nowhere island where they would have to struggle for survival.

Better that than execution.

And reminiscent of Khan's time on the Enterprise in the original series which ended with him being dropped off on a planet with his very own woman who betrayed her oath for love.

If this was a normal Saturday night, I would have watched the Canadiens play, probably before I watched the episode, which would have likely resulted in a loss.

But Hockey is done for the season because this isn't going to be resolved easily for the playoffs to be played.

There will be no Stanley Cup this decayear.

Be well eh.
